How To Get LEGO Harry Potter Years 1-4
Forget about complicated histories, plot intricacies, and deep character exposition: LEGO version of Harry Potter has slapstick. It's really the only option left for a game where none of the characters can talk, but luckily, it works just as well here as it has in previous Lego games. Actually, fans of blocky adventure games take the Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4 like Hermione for schoolwork, reveled in the game's humor, familiar gameplay and many challenges. What separates this game from Lego cousins is the renewed focus on exploring and gathering: The game invites you to explore its rich detail rich environments with promises of more rewards and secrets than you can poke a stick at. The gameplay also operates tale with more purpose than in previous Lego games, which means you get a real sense of progression as you learn various charms and earn new skills. There are some minor errors which scattered bugs and an excessive difficulties in battle, but these are not enough to mar the magic.

As the title suggests, Lego Harry Potter is four adventures in one. Would you begin with Harry's induction into Hogwarts in year 1, going on to the secret-Riddle-d in year 2, jump to Sirius-ly lupine in 3 years before they come to face the challenges magical 4th Year The game is inspired by Harry Potter films instead of the original text, but you'll hardly notice the difference: The narrative has been shortened considerably and many liberties have been taken for the sake of comedy. The results are often hilarious. Take the moment Harry brings back Cedric's broken body at the end of chapter IV, for example. Dumbledore gasp and then hands him a Lego assembly sheets. There are also fine genius in the game's environments, which are colorful, well detailed, and full of contextual accuracy, from Dursley home in Little Whinging to the drafty corridors of Hogwarts, and everything in between.
You can move characters around with either D pad or the analog stick (although the latter is better) and use the X button to interact with objects and people. A small 2D map insert in the upper right corner of the screen acts as your guide, with your current target is marked with a blue star. Room of Requirement is your hub in the game where you can collect studs, practice incantations to spruce up your unlocked characters with some basic customization options, and play through the unlocked chapters. You have the opportunity to play in two ways: Story Mode and Free Play. While the contents of the two modes is the same, Free Play allows you to select one of the unlocked characters and make your way through these levels with an entirely different set of magic. Apart from just being fun, there's certainly more worthwhile in doing things this way because you are able to explore more areas and collect more goodies.
The first thing you notice in Story mode is that there are some objects you can not interact with the same (objects that glow blue is a go; objects that glows red means you have to wait). This is because you have to learn magic as you go along - it does not all come at once. This structure creates a neat and coherent links between story and gameplay that gives you a sense of progression and outcomes. Can not light, torch or bring the platform down from the ceiling? Not to worry, you will teach them magic next! This gives you something new to consistently look forward to adding expectations. Gameplay is controlled by a series of short, snappy missions, drive the story forward: You are either asked to fight evil, solve puzzles, find lost items, or learn a new spell, but never in the same order and never only one at a time , which means things are always interesting. Spells start easy and get more complex on a need-to-know basis (for example, Harry does not learn to throw the Patronus charm until year 3 when he needs to fight Dementors). Reducto used as the main attack, while other spells, such as wingardium leviosa, LUMO, accio, revelio, reparo and stun, also makes an appearance.
Casting spells is a lot of fun: Each spell has its own characteristic button combination that you must copy exactly as it comes up on screen prompt. Reducto surveyed in the square button, because it is your main attack, but leviosa other spells as wingardium requires that you press the triangle button three times in quick succession. Harder magic, like transfiguration requires a mixture - for example by tapping you on the square button twice and then the circle once. This is an interesting way to cast spells - rather than just having them attached to the existing buttons - and keeps you on your toes the entire game. The gameplay does not actually freeze while you cast spells, which means you still come under attack during combat. It's actually more enjoyable because the challenge is set: It just means you have to prep yourself to get the button presses right first time.
There is no sweeter sound than breaking Lego spewing mountains of treasure.
While combat still plays an important role in Lego Harry Potter, with emphasis on exploration and collection means you are invited to smash as much of your Lego surroundings as you can in this extremely rewarding schadenfreude-sense-of-destruction kind of way. To make this show an overwhelming amount of tax, from studs and secret chests for wizard hats and red brick (which unlock special magic in Free Play mode). Obviously it would not be a Lego game without some light platforming and puzzle solving. Outside of the environmental puzzles you must solve to progress through the game, you only encounter two other types of puzzles: a quick and easy Lego puzzles, and one where you are required to match up three pairs of objects in the order you see them . As for platforming, the game asks you when you need to jump by revealing four little blue arrows on each platform that you need to achieve. While neither element is especially challenging, they are fun all the same, and because there is so much to do all the time, this aspect is not annoying.

What is annoying is the game's uneven combat difficulties. By far the toughest match of the game takes place between Harry and Draco Malfoy in the middle of year 2, where Harry has to defeat Draco in a series of short games that test the repertoire of magic, you have learned up to this point. In contrast, one of the easiest fights in the game the last one in which Harry must defeat Lord Voldemort (or Voldy if you want) at the end of fourth year The fact that this fight is so unchallenging, and over so quickly it is disappointing and profoundly unrewarding. This is not the only instance of this: More often than not, Harry faces his toughest battles in the most random moments, without any real explanation why, which makes things feel a little disjointed from time to time. The game can also be slightly behind the action: Sometimes it can take up to five or six seconds to play catch up and update the map with your next assignment after an objective is completed. There are also some examples of slow loading times, but it does not happen often and is not enough to take you out of the experience when it happens.
